A new mother’s too-good-to-be-true

Because the food is sourced locally, the options change with the seasons, when new fruits and vegetables become available.

With eat local and organic movements becoming synonymous with Boulder, Michele Farley and her sister-in-law, Stephanie Turner found a niche market that had yet to be filled.

The official start date was the first of the year. Organic sweet potatoes and carrots in hand, the duo whipped up the first orders for Go Go Baby Organics.

The idea for Go Go Baby Organics sprouted from Michele’s 10 years as a preschool teacher and Stephanie’s recent embark on motherhood. “After seeing what kids were being fed, I became passionate about feeding kids healthy to instill healthy eating habits from the start,” says Michele, “Everything is so processed; even organic baby food sold in grocery stores still isn’t fresh.”

As a new mother, Stephanie wanted to give her son only the best food from infancy on. Recognizing most mothers do not have the time to sleep let alone make baby food, the women started a company that would do it for them—using the best ingredients and delivering them to each family’s doorstep.

The munchkin meals are 100% certified organic—the only certified organic fresh baby food in Colorado. The company has also earned the right to sport the COLORADO PROUD badge of approval. All food is made and delivered within 24-hours. Deliveries are made on Tuesdays and Fridays, when a four-day supply is brought to each home. The empty BPA free jars from the previous delivery are collected, sanitized, and reused to prevent waste.

Barely a month old, the company has plans for future expansion. If Go Go Baby Organics hits local grocery stores, shoppers will be able to find freshly frozen versions of the current stock. A few local preschools and daycares have even scouted out Go Go products for their infant rooms.

The family company gets ingredients for their 15 baby food varieties from local Colorado farmers. The varieties are divided among three categories: purees, textures, and meals, each suiting a progressive stage of infancy. Because the food is sourced locally, the options change with the seasons, when new fruits and vegetables become available.
