BoldeReach hosts acclaimed activist
What: Shannon Galpin
Where: Boedecker Theater
When: Sunday, March 30 | 6 – 8 p.m.
Shannon Galpin has garnered the attention of the world with her creative and courageous work in Afghanistan. She’ll share her story with Boulder this week.
Ms. Galpin is a 2013 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. She is the founder of Colorado-based nonprofit Mountain2Mountain, which focuses on women’s rights and activism through art and sport. Undaunted by the unfathomable, Ms. Galpin completed a solo bike ride across Afghanistan and launched the Afghan National Women’s Cycling Team.
She has spoken at the Rome TEDx and has been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, and Outside Magazine, on MSNBC, Dateline NBC, The Today Show and NBC Nightly News.
Her talk this Sunday promises to be riveting for anyone with even a modicum of interest in human rights, girls empowerment, creative activism and pushing through fear to change the world. It is presented by BoldeReach, a community of women who work to enrich the lives and aspirations of women and children in extreme need around the world and to help them surmount the economic, political, and cultural challenges they face. To date, BoldeReach has raised and donated over $750,000.
Seating is limited; please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Suggested donation is $20.
