“Locally owned, organically grown,” Boulder’s newest one-stop -run-shop opens in the Table Mesa Shopping Center this Saturday.
Run Boulder is the brainchild of a conglomerate of Boulder running experts: R.L. Smith and Tricia Vieth from In-Step custom insoles; and a hearty crew formerly from Boulder Running Company: Henry and Suzanne Guzman, Greg Weich, and Sarah Rebick.
Rebick, who started Boulder Fun Run, wants to take the family-friendly race tradition of her event management at Boulder Running Company with her to the new store.
“There’s always a kid’s race involved and we always keep the price low to make the races accessible,” says Rebick, who wants to make Run Boulder the “community center for runners.”
“A hangout, a place where we really take care of people,” she says; a place where visitors stop by to get the scoop on the best runs in Boulder and much more than retail. Rebick stresses Run Boulder’s philosophy that a running merchandise store should encourage its community to keep running by fitting people with the best shoe for them, custom nutrition and hydration.
Run Boulder is also dedicated to supporting other local small businesses. The store will stock Skratch Labs, ROLL Recovery, and Ultimate Direction, and will partner with Phil Bedford of Rocky Mountain Running Adventures. The shop has a few running events up its sleeve, too.
Stop by on Saturday and stay tuned for updates on Run Boulder’s September grand opening event!
