Cool ruled Boulder’s fashion scene at the second annual Fashion’s Night Downtown.
Models from 25 downtown retailers strutted the runway in the heart of the city, sporting outfits styled by store employees.
New and recycled clothing store Buffalo Exchange won kudos from the crowd for their creative style. Model Mae Sicard of Boulder donned super-hip sunglasses, which Sicard said are from “one of our new merch companies.”
The crowd grooved to the artful commentary of Master of Ceremonies Peter Waters, general manager at T/ACO, and upbeat tunes spun by DJ Jasonick.
Locals decked out as well, with many Boulderites exhibiting a “breath of fresh air” in their style sense, according to Marian Rothschild, local personal image consultant and author of Look Good Now, a do-it-yourself style makeover guide.
“I absolutely love seeing so many of the people in the crowds here dressed so stylishly and colorfully. It’s really nice to see that Boulder came out for this event,” said Rothschild.
All models took to the stage in the show finale, and Nod & Rose showered the crowd with ‘bucks’ for in-store discounts. Thirty participating downtown retailers hosted in-store libations, raffles, give-aways and discounts.
Resident Clarissa King said, “It’s a really fun event. I’m going to check out the stores and see what looks good and support the local community.”
Lisa Drake added, “I thought the show was very Boulder and I liked it a lot. I found some places I’ve never been into that I want to visit.”
