An absolute favorite quick lunch spot on West Pearl in Boulder? Two Spoons – a “small batch kitchen” tucked away at 1021 Pearl Street.
Dishing out hot, fresh soups and creative gelatos (one spoon for each), Two Spoons serves gigantic flavors in its teeny-tiny space. With seating for only about 12, it’s a lovely place to eat with a date, a friend or a newspaper. Big picture windows frame up the always energetic scene outside.
I took mine to go today: a chipotle sweet potato soup that made my eyes roll to the back of my head. Moroccan lentil, broccoli cheddar and a tempeh stew were piping hot sellers too. Grilled paninis with super fresh ingredients — house-roasted turkey, emmenthal cheese, basil, etc. – make it a meal. My favorite? The grilled cheese with roma tomatoes on peasant bread. You won’t find anything like this in-and-out, fresh made meal for under $10 anywhere else in Boulder.
Two Spoons is better known for its housemade gelatos, which the Examiner.com called “Boulder’s Best.” The flavors are imaginative to say the list – fig, cinnamon, banana, espresso brownie and much, much more. Flavors change daily and every concoction is rightly balanced. Taste away to find your favorite chill thrill. It’s all good.
