First of six 2015 seasonal food festivals set for May 30, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
BOULDER, May 26, 2015—The Longmont Farmers Market, a seasonal marketplace for locally grown produce, locally produced food products and local artisans, will host its first-ever Radish Festival onMay 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, Colo..
The first of six seasonal food festivals planned by Boulder County Farmers Markets this season, the Longmont Radish Festival will feature a radish tasting with 10 varieties grown from local farms, the Raddest Farmer contest, radish-inspired recipe demonstrations from Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, and radish yard games. Free kid’s activities will include radish face-painting, necklace-making and vegetable printing.
The Tasterie Truck will feature locally grown radishes on its entire menu, including a Thai Pork Bowl and a Radish Salad with pickled, roasted, and raw radishes and a Radish Goat Cheese spread. Seb’s Wood Fired Cuisine will offer a Radish Flatbread, and Saint Vrain Vineyards will sample Radish Butter Toasts with a wine pairing.
Boulder County Farmers Markets will host six seasonal food festivals throughout the 2015 season at its four markets, including a Kale Festival on June 24, Stone Fruit Festival on Aug. 8, Tomato Festival onAug. 26, Pepper Festival on Sept. 12, and Carrot Festival on Oct. 3.
