Boulder’s A-Lodge is A+

Founders, owners, and CU Boulder college friends Asa Firestone and Kris Klauber of Boulder A-Lodge are putting the “venture” into “adventure” as they continue to enhance and perfect their “proper adventure lodge” for Boulder.

First of all, what is an adventure lodge? Klauber explains, “It’s a new startup hotel concept. We want people who are into nature, into community, into meeting new people, into having fun…going out for a big ride and climb and having a place to crash at the end of the day.” Firestone discusses Boulder’s need for an adventure lodge: “Boulder is a town at the center of the adventure community in this country and yet it doesn’t have a place for the adventure community to convene.”

Boulder A-Lodge was built around three principals: Access, Adventure, and Amenities. With the expert and tireless help of RE/MAX of Boulder REALTOR® Digger Braymiller, Firestone and Klauber acquired a majestic property (click the map below) on Four Mile Creek that provides all three A’s.

Tucked into verdant and rustic Boulder Canyon along scenic Four Mile Creek, the picturesque Boulder A-Lodge grounds connect to a nearby bike path, making it an easy ride to downtown Boulder. Firestone recollects visiting the property, “When I first stepped foot on this property, I was blown away by its beauty and the potential that was here…There are countless adventure activities surrounding the lodge whether you are climbing here in Boulder Canyon, mountain biking, or fly fishing.” Firestone also mentions that they are renovating campsites and have even built a slackline park. The A-Lodge also works with local companies to provide adventure programming and activities including mountain biking, outdoor yoga, rock climbing, and fly fishing.

As for amenities, they have spruced up the rooms and modernized the atmosphere. Firestone comments, “We re-did all of the art and linens, and painted the entire property.” Klauber adds, “The rooms are cool. I want to call them rustic with a modern touch. We wanted to update the amenities like the TVs, like the linens.” There are a variety of options for room accommodations including a Bunk Room, Deluxe Queen Suite, and a Jacuzzi Queen.

Additionally, the A-Lodge offers massage therapy, hot tub and pool, a community room and salon, a meeting room, and even shuttle service into downtown Boulder. They have also applied for a liquor license so guests will be able to gather around the fire pit or lounge by the creek with a local brew or glass of wine. The A-Lodge sets out to provide outstanding rustic accommodations to go along with convenient access to the tremendously desirable outdoor adventures that Boulder offers.
