Traditional networking event turns inside out for all-day exhibition next week
Engage Colorado is bringing NewCo, a fresh twist on the traditional conference, back to Boulder for the second consecutive year in an effort to connect and educate the community about the city’s most innovative businesses. The one-day event will take place Nov. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
NewCo celebrates the spirit of innovation that embodies some of the most progressive organizations around the world. Instead of gathering in a ballroom, more than 50 of Boulder’s founders and entrepreneurs open their doors to NewCo participants for one-hour experiential sessions where attendees can learn from the best entrepreneurs in an intimate setting, get a peek into new product development and innovations, and experience behind-the-scene tours of cutting edge work environments.
“This is an opportunity to take a look inside new, up and coming companies, and shine a light on all the different aspects of the entrepreneurial community in Boulder,” said Tim O’Shea, co-founder of Engage Colorado. “NewCo’s mission is to identify, celebrate, and connect the engines of positive change in our economy and Boulder’s vibrant startup community makes it the perfect venue.”
During the all-day festival, companies will host a session at their individual headquarters that captures their unique story and shares their vision in terms of market solution, culture, methodology and changing the world. NewCo is revolutionizing the way that companies interact with each other while fostering new connections among festival goers. NewCo is all about innovation, passion and driving positive change that will grow the NewCo movement along with the innovation economy.
Attendees will choose their own adventure by creating personalized schedules to attend informational sessions hosted by a wide range of participating companies, from technology to cannabis to nonprofits, all offering a deep and unique experience to their successes. To kickoff the festival, NewCo has joined forces with the Boulder Chamber for the 31st annual Esprit Entrepreneurship Awards Gala — the premier celebration of the Entrepreneur in Boulder taking place Nov. 18 from 5-8:30 p.m. in the University of Colorado’s Touchdown Club. Founded in 2012 by John Battelle and Brian Monahan, NewCo is a disruptive conference model and media platform where the innovation economy is showcased. A fresh twist on the traditional conference + media platform, NewCo is rapidly gaining traction across the globe. The concept is simple but powerful: NewCo turns a traditional event inside out. Instead of filling a dark ballroom with “attendees” and having leaders lecture in a one-to-many style, NewCo occurs inside the world’s most innovative startups and high-growth companies. Executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and future influencers get an up close and personal experience of each company in its native habitat. Once inside, participants have a wide range of experiences – from behind-the-scene tours of cutting-edge work environments to founders candidly sharing insights into their own entrepreneurial journey. Only NewCo offers this deep and unique experience of the innovation economy.
