Boy Scouts of America names towering business leaders Frank and Gina Day as 2016 Boulder Distinguished Citizens of the Year.
The Boy Scouts of America, Longs Peak Council announced Frank and Gina Day as the recipients of the 2016 Boulder Distinguished Citizen Award. This award will be presented on March 16, 2016 at a benefit dinner in their honor at the CU Touchdown Club in Boulder. A Boulder Distinguished Eagle Scout will also be announced at the event.
Frank and Gina Day, entrepreneurs and owners of the historic Hotel Boulderado since 1982, are standout community leaders, serving in philanthropic organizations throughout Boulder including the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Demming School of Entrepreneurship at Colorado University, and People’s Medical Clinic in Boulder.
Frank currently serves as director of Rock Bottom Restaurants, which he formed in the mid ‘90s. Frank had an outstanding vision to build restaurants under several brands across the country. With this in mind, he built Rock Bottom Breweries, Old Chicago, and the Chophouse, making him one of Boulder’s most renowned entrepreneurs.
Gina opened Walnut Brewery with her husband in 1990, and was CEO and President of Boulder Beer from 1991-2002. She is currently a beverage consultant and partner with Concept Restaurants. Gina has proven to be a superb entrepreneur, having been honored with numerous awards including the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Throughout Gina’s career, she has also served on numerous boards including the Boulder Community Hospital Foundation and United Bank of Boulder Advisory Board.
Frank and Gina both support many nonprofits and charities through the Day Family Foundation.
