Show your support for food justice and counteract food insecurity at this year’s fabulous Feast of Fermentation fundraiser.

Pickled, jarred, and preserved – treats that are deliciously conserved! Boulder Food Rescue is excited to announce the 5th Annual Feast of Fermentation from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on September 23 at the Avalon Ballroom, 6185 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder.

The fundraiser focuses on a delightful dinner celebration comprised of locally-sourced ingredients donated by Boulder-based organizations. It features unique food stations including a taco bar and Asian noodle bar showcasing fermented ingredients highlighted on a distinctive menu designed by Chef Jordan Anderson. Complementing the delectable dinner will be an assortment of drinks including local beer, wine, spirits, kombucha, water kefir, and more. Also peruse an array of silent auction items to bid on before learning the winner of the lively Homebrew Competition sponsored by Boulder Fermentation Supply, After dinner, hit the dancefloor to live funky jazz from the Boulder band The New Family Recipe.

“We are excited to ramp up our event this year and really give back to the community. At the heart of everything we do, we are trying to build solid and meaningful relationships,” says Executive Director of Boulder Food Rescue, Hana Dansky.

“We hope to build more foundational relationships with local food vendors creating alternatives to this overwhelming food system, local breweries and alcohol merchants who are rooted in giving back to their community, and individuals who come to our event and support our programs, ultimately sustaining the work that we do creating a more just and less wasteful food system,” she adds.

The goal of the Feast of Fermentation is to raise awareness around Boulder Food Rescue’s mission as they facilitate the sustainable redistribution of healthy food through a network of volunteers who bike the food to human services agencies that serve homeless and low-income individuals while educating each other about food justice.
