Now donating to hurricane relief can be enjoyable — and delicious!

The Post Brewing Company is helping raise money for Hurricane Irma relief. Over the next month, 100% of proceeds from the sale of every Dark ’N’ Stormy at The Post in LafayetteRosedale, and Longmont will go directly to the “Love for Love City” Foundation, which is currently helping the devastated U.S. Virgin Island of St. John.

Chef / Partner Brett “ Smitty” Smith spent several years there before moving back to Colorado to open The Post, and his family still considers the tiny island their second home. Many of his closest friends’ houses and businesses were destroyed by Irma and they have a long road ahead to recovery.

Here are his words:

Dear Friends of The Post,

I was lucky enough to spend four years living on the beautiful island of St. John. These were some of the best times of my life. My wife and I raised our daughter there until she was two, and she still considers herself an island girl to this day, 10 years later. St John is nicknamed “Love City,” in part because of the incredible sense of community there. In my time there, I developed friendships that will last my lifetime. My dear friend and former boss John Ferrigno who owns ZoZo’s Restaurant and I have partnered over the last several years to organize many charitable events here in Colorado.

Hurricane Irma has absolutely devastated the island. This little five-mile-by-nine-mile piece of paradise will take many years to recover. Peoples lives and businesses are in for some tough times –- but we can help. Over the next month, The Post will donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of every DARK N’ STORMY to the “Love for Love City” Foundation started by country music star, Kenny Chesney. Kenny is a longtime lover of St John who has already chartered a plane and has been sending much-needed supplies to our island friends. His convoy of supplies and workers arrived in St. John before any government agencies. Our donations will support his efforts. Please consider enjoying a delicious Dark N’ Stormy or making a donation to our friends in need in St. John.

Sincerely,
Brett Smith
