Spring has officially sprung in Colorado, and that means Mother’s Day is just around the corner. The one day a year when every mother in the nation feels the love and appreciation she deserves from her supportive family. That is, if she has a family to begin with.

Some of us fail to remember that there are single mothers, struggling to support themselves and their child, with no one in the world to help them. They are constantly fighting an uphill battle for food, shelter and clothes. The love they feel for their child is the only fuel to keep them going.

That’s where charities like Mother House come to the rescue. Founded in 1982, they have since helped 750 single mothers and their children get off the streets or away from perilous conditions to get back on their own two feet. Mother House is a nurturing, stable home for struggling, pregnant mothers and helps them access important programs and resources that will help them build a foundation for their future and that of their child’s.

On Saturday April 22, Mother House is hosting their annual Wine and Art Gala in Boulder. The nonprofit runs on donations and fundraising events, and this is their largest event of the year.

Attendees will bask in the warm glow of reflecting on the mothers and their babies that Mother House has helped. At the event, there will be silent and live auctions with wonderful prizes.

But perhaps the most meaningful part of the evening will be the presence of Mother House alumni, who have returned to share their stories of resilience and success since graduating from the Mother House program.

All of the proceeds from the night go directly to helping more at-risk mothers and their children find refuge and a chance to start their life fresh. Tickets are no longer on sale, but if this worthy cause tugs at your heart, you can always directly donate to Mother House by clicking here.
