Share-A-Gift seeks helpers |
The heaping accumulation of toys in the lobby of RE/MAX of Boulder is a beautiful site. Bikes, balls and games galore, it’s maybe best described as a ginormous pile of fun.
All of these bright and cheery play things are destined for local kids who might otherwise not get gifts this Christmas.
For these kids, Share-A-Gift is a homegrown, all-volunteer Boulder miracle. For more than 40 years, Share-A-Gift has undertaken the colossal effort to amass and distribute enough toys so that every child in Boulder County gets a little something special — even when Santa can’t afford the goods.
The generosity of the Boulder community (with special thanks to RE/MAX of Boulder clients!) is outstanding – but harnessing this kind of giving power takes a herculean effort, most of it made possible by volunteers.
That’s where you come in. So far, Share-A-Gift has signed up more than enough people to help set up its toy distribution center. Now it needs a few more helpers for distributing gifts on its big give-away day December 21. Anyone 15 and older can sign up to help this day.
Also, Share-A-Gift is seeking help with the less glamorous (but no less important) task of warehouse clean up the day after distribution, on December 22. Volunteers older than 12 are welcome.
To sign up for either day, just start here.
