There are two more weekends of the 14th Annual Growing Gardens Community Plant Sale – be sure not to miss out! The greenhouse at 1630 Hawthorn in north Boulder is bursting with tomato seedlings – more than 40 varieties, including heirlooms – and other organic herb and vegetable starts, all lovingly cultivated on site.
Beautiful flower baskets are ready to hang on your patio. Outside you will find flowering annuals and perennials, strawberry plants, grape and blueberry bushes, grasses, and more. All the plants are selected to thrive in our Colorado soil and climate. Growing Gardens staff and volunteers will help you choose as well as provide advice about hardening off the plants that have been in the greenhouse.
There may be fiddle playing (as I recall from plant sales past) and there will certainly be breakfast treats courtesy of the sale’s sponsor, Boulder Brands (Earth Balance, Udi’s and Glutino). All proceeds from the sale benefit Growing Gardens’ numerous non-profit endeavors. So get your garden ready, clear out the back of the car (or borrow a bigger one), and come on by!
