The Future of Fitness

CrossFit Sanitas offers safe, customized youth fitness

CrossFit workouts are designed to challenge fully grown and developed bodies. But Boulder’s newest CrossFit gym, CrossFit Sanitas, has modified that experience to meet the needs of growing physiques, with a full slate of appropriately challenging fitness classes as well as nutrition education for kids:

Little Kids
For kids in age groups of 4 – 9 and 10 – 13, CrossFit Sanitas offers classes that incorporate fun activities, climbing, jumping, tumbling, group play, and more — guided by certified trainers. Essentially, these little ones are getting great exercise that’s disguised as play. Classes are once per week, with four-week sessions offered.

“This is all about introducing kids to a gym experience that is completely fun and positive,” says Tom Baker, of CrossFit Sanitas Member Services.

Teen Athletes
The Boulder community is home to many serious student athletes in all kinds of sports and play. CrossFit offers those participants an opportunity to gain a competitive edge with classes that advance “full-body strength, mobility, lateral stabilization muscles and explosive power.”

Classes are for teens ages 14 – 18, and are taught by CrossFit certified instructors who have experience playing and coaching sports like lacrosse, football, soccer, tennis, climbing, baseball and rugby at competitive levels.  The sessions are suitable for everyone from serious competitors to anyone looking for a good summer workout series.

Next week on June 1 at 4 p.m., the gym is offering a free trial class to teens ages 14 – 18. RSVP here.

Team Athletics
CrossFit Sanitas will tailor private conditioning classes for teams and small groups, between or during seasons. A coach or parent sponsor can get the process started by simply calling the gym at 303.449.4635.

Day Care
CrossFit Sanitas hosts a terrific play room so parents can take care of themselves while little ones have a blast. Times vary, but services are generally offered during 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. classes Monday through Saturday, and 5 p.m. Basecamp classes. Cost is just $5 per session for members and $8 for non-members.

Note: This is the fourth in a series on CrossFit Sanitas, RE/MAX of Boulder’s Featured Friend for May. Read more here:
