Boulderites: Add some dimension to your undying love for the outdoors this summer and put an open-air movie on your list.
The good people at Boulder Outdoor Cinema have organized a line up of both overt and covert hits. Movie lovers of almost every age and stage will find one to love:
July 6 Big Trouble in Little China
July 13 Despicable Me
July 20 Rocky Horror Picture Show
July 27 Moonrise Kingdom
Aug 3 Princess Bride
Aug 10 Wayne’s World
Aug 17 Tombstone
Aug 24 Monty Python and The Holy Grail
Aug 31 Big Lebowski
BOC screens films on an 18’ x 30’ wide screen at 1750 13th Street in downtown Boulder. That’s right behind the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, every Saturday night between July 6 and August 31.
Plan to arrive between 7 and 8 o’clock. Live music, triva contests, and all kinds of fun preceed the movie, which generally starts between 8:30 and 9, as soon as it’s dark enough. Gourmet popcorn, drinks and more substantial fare are available for sale at the concession stand.
Bring a low back chair if you can (the surface is a parking lot). High back chairs are welcome too – you’ll just sit a little farther back. Suggested entry donation is $5.
