Cheers to Boulder Green Drinks!

Green Drinks is an exciting locally-based movement of environmentally- and sustainability-minded community members who organize a casual and lively monthly meetup.

They network and catch up over drinks in cities across the world – from Warsaw, Poland to Sofia, Bulgaria to Port Chalmers, New Zealand.

Boulder’s Green Drinks chapter was founded 11 years ago by Mike Johnson, founder and co-publisher of the ReDirect Guide, a sustainable business promotional network, and Sara Wells, organizer for Denver’s Green Drinks chapter.

In 2011, Heather Smart became an organizer for Boulder Green Drinks along with Business Sustainability Advisor for Boulder County Public Health and Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE) Ambra Sutherlin and Development Director for Wildlands Restoration Volunteers Sarah Egolf. They formed a steering committee to help plan the informative and fun monthly meetings scheduled for the third Tuesday of every month.

The meetups are held at a different brewery, restaurant, or bar – and at businesses such as eco-automotive shops, co-ops, and even co-housing where they branch out beyond the typical bar setting to capture all aspects of the Boulder community. During each delightful Boulder Green Drinks event, a local environmentally sustainable company or nonprofit and a guest speaker who presents to the group are spotlighted.
