On September 12, local arts heroes will honored in a two-hour entertainment experience unlike any other.
The Dairy Center for the Arts has announced seven individuals who will be recognized as honorees at a special night of entertainment September 12 called Dairy Center Honors. We are proud to recognize individuals who, throughout their careers, have made significant contributions to the Boulder area culture through the arts. We believe it is important for this community to show its appreciation of excellence and artistic achievement in theater, dance, music, visual arts, and motion picture.

The honorees for 2015 include Barbara Dilley, a nationally recognized dancer and founder of the Naropa dance program; Polly Addison, a local artist and arts philanthropist; Art Lande, a local jazz institution and national performer; Jim Palmer, retired CU film studies professor; Michael Duran, Artistic Director of Boulder Dinner Theatre; Susan Booker, longtime Lafayette Cultural Resources Coordinator; and Richard Polk, local business man and longtime supporter of arts and culture who will receive this year’s Humanitarian Award.
The Dairy Center Honors program will be hosted in the Performance Space at The Dairy on September 12 and has been modeled after the popular Kennedy Center Honors. We will pay tribute to each honoree with performances by individuals and groups who represent the honoree’s field of excellence and/or who have been directly touched by the honoree. Many called this the arts entertainment event of the year in Boulder last year and this year will be just as entertaining and inspiring.
The program will begin at 7:30pm and will feature an evening of star-studded performances in tribute to the honorees. The performances are a surprise to the honorees as well as to the public and are guaranteed to be something very special.
We want this to be a truly special night because we want to recognize the impact these Honorees have made on Boulder area culture and inspire more individuals and businesses to engage in the arts here.
